My name is Ravi Bhavsar and I'm a 23 year-old music producer and DJ from East Brunswick, NJ. I graduated Rutgers with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Music. If there is one thing to know about me, it is that I love music. Ever since I was a child, music has surrounded me due to my father's strong affinity to it. His innate passion for anything musical transcended into me, and I began singing at the age of five. Since then, I performed Hindi songs with my father and sister at various venues and soon began DJing by the time I turned thirteen.
As a DJ, I always felt a little shorthanded. Although I loved music and mixing it for people to dance to, I really yearned to create the music itself. As a sophmore in highschool, I bought my first audio interface that came with an entry level version of Cubase. Starting with simple mashups, I began to make original remixes in which I would just use the vocal of a song and make the rest of the track. Since then, I've been working hard to achieve the sound I want by constantly working on music. I even decided that this is what I want to pursue as a career and haven't really done anything with my Biological Sciences degree.
Recently, I got my first official placement for a remix of Melanie C, the former Spice Girl, and Matt Cardle, a winner of the X-Factor UK. This was definitely a great step for me in the right direction as it was almost surreal to finally see my name on iTunes and Beatport. I know that no matter what the future holds, I'll always live by this motto: good music is good music.
